Oh my good-ness this was such a fun, and also pain staking project. Right after Christmas my family and I went to Joann’s and found out that fleece was on sale! I always wanted one of those huge arm knit blankets for the couch. I saw this adorable puppy material and absolutely had to use it as the material to make this blanket!
I don’t even remember how much of the fleece I bought. (sorry!) I am pretty sure it was over 10 yards. Once we got the material home I cut it into 3 inch wide strips, sewed the ends together randomly and wound it into a ball. I then proceeded to arm knit the blanket!
For the arm knitting i would caution everyone that it does get super heavy… And if you are anything like me you will rip out the knots at least twice so that you can get the correct width for the blanket. Also a good note would be that you can’t stop once you start making it. Your arms are your knitting needles.
In the end the blanket makes the perfect blanket for the couch and gets super duper hot. The puppy pattern is also super cute even in the knitted version.
If you want to make one for yourself, you can find a tutorial here for how to go about arm knitting.
Until next time, safe travels and good luck on all of your endeavors,
