Oh my goodness I redrew the background on this so many times! I sketched it out one way and then re-sketched it. I also re did the lines 3 – 4 times. I moved my jaw in such an odd way while doing the ceiling. I didn’t even realize this until I took a break to sleep. My jaw hurt so friggin’ much. I found later that if I spend more money on the application I use (because that’s how everything works now a days) that they have a perspective grid that you can add all the planes onto and use it as a guide. I may just invest in this so I don’t have wrong angles like I did on one of the versions of the sketch. Which is why I had to re-sketch it at one point.
The idea for this popped into my head while I was playing ESO (Elder Scrolls Online) and my character had to climb up a well into a building. I didn’t want to just draw my ESO characters over and over again. I made up this little (tall?) thief girl.
I may draw her again, she was alot of fun to draw. I also drew her hood down because I just imagined her grabbing the rope and swinging on it just right that her hood fell off of her head.
Side note: I have a bunch of art for sale at my Society6 shop! Be sure to go check it out especially if you haven’t yet. If you follow me on facebook, instagram or twitter I try to post whenever Society 6 is having a sale. Good way to get a few pieces if you feel like some things are a little over your budget. ALSO I have started posting art on my Flikr page if you don’t like the blog format this is an option. I am still working on Weasyl. I need more time in my life haha… ugh.
Until next time, safe travels and good luck on all of your endeavors,
-The Sonne Faun
